Nate and Audrey were referred to me through a mutual friend and within minutes of hanging out with them at their engagement session, I knew they were my kind of people. Nate and Audrey are fun-loving, down to earth, caring people who have so much love for one another. Throughout their entire wedding day you could truly feel the love they were surrounded with as their closest friends and family traveled to experience their big day.

Nate and Audrey’s wedding was probably the prettiest fall wedding I’ve experienced as we were surrounded by beautiful mountains and warm colored aspen leaves all day. Once we wrapped up the ceremony and family photos, the happy couple and I headed to a near by lake. This was a part of the day they were particularly looking forward too. A few weeks before the wedding, Audrey and I were tossing around a few ideas of what we could do to make bridal portraits extra special. We came up with the idea of setting up a little picnic during sunset.

Audrey was going to keep this a secret so she could surprise Nate. Ultimately, she was able to coordinate with the caterers to fill her picnic basket set up with food, particularly the empanadas that the guests were going to have during cocktail hour. We called this our Empanada Picnic since it was so important they needed to try it.

Not only was this a highlight for Nate and Audrey, but it’s always so special when couples turn their bridal photos and make it an experience. Of course we were able to get some stunning photos of them together, but most importantly this was a time for them to unwind together, really taking in the day and what it means for their relationship. Once we got back to the reception, this was when the party began! Guests were so excited to greet them and truly it was a dance party like I have never seen before.
