This Colorado wedding at Stove Prairie Ranch was a truly unforgettable day at one of my favorite wedding venues in Fort Collins!
Austin and Myiah’s wedding was truly a cowboy fairytale come true! These two celebrated their love surrounded by their closest friends in the gorgeous foothills of the Rocky Mountains and it was the most incredible day!
The bridal party was able to stay the night right on property in the bridal cottage. The girls woke up early to get ready while enjoying brunch and mimosas. The men also had their own space on the property to get ready and enjoy some whiskey before the ceremony!
One of my favorite moments was Austin and Myiah’s first touch. They chose to do that rather than doing a first look. They read their private vows and it was such an incredibly special moment to witness their love for each other! And this made Myiah’s walk down the aisle an even more beautiful moment.
The guests arrived to the ceremony location via a tractor and wagon. Big wooden benches and chairs were set up in the foothills of Stove Prairie, surrounded by large boulders and stunning trees. I just loved how this ceremony spot really let you take in all of the natural beauty of this area!
Austin and Myiah’s wedding day was definitely one for the books, truly unforgettable and so memorable!
When Austin and Myiah first reached out to me, they hadn’t decided on a venue yet and were debating between two different locations. They mentioned that one was Stove Prairie Ranch and I instantly lit up!! My husband and I just had our own wedding two months before that and I had nothing but praise for this venue!
Stove Prairie Ranch is an exclusive venue with beautiful rustic stone buildings, stunning mountain views that you would want from a Colorado venue, and the wide open green pastures. It has over 600 acres of land, which means you aren’t limited to locations for your photos!
You can choose from several beautiful locations for your wedding ceremony, including a stone gazebo set in a grassy meadow, and the beautiful natural rock amphitheatre with the Rocky Mountains as a back drop that Austin and Myiah choose. For your reception, you can choose from the arena and stables that gives you a modern ranch feel or you can dine under the stars on the terrace or lawns.
Another aspect I love about this venue is that when you book your wedding date, you get the property for the whole weekend! This means you can set up on Friday, have your wedding on Saturday, and then clean up on Sunday. You won’t feel rushed at all which can be a relief! There’s also the Bridal Cottage included for the bridal party to get ready, or the bride and groom can stay here on the wedding night.
Having shot at this venue, and personally getting married there, I recommend giving ample time for driving and/or transportation. Especially with how guests arrive at the ceremony, you want to plan for this to take some time to get all of your guests to the location and not start running behind. To help with this, Austin and Myiah technically had two happy hours: one while the guests were arriving since people had to wait for a ride to the ceremony, and then one while the wedding party and family took photos.
Just keep this in mind when planning out your timeline, and your photographer can help with this!

Something I love about this venue is the choices of locations for each part of your day, as well as for photos! Here’s what you can choose from:

During the planning stages of this wedding, Myiah mentioned to me that she really wanted Beverage Burros during cocktail hour, which I recommended to her! I have been lucky enough to work with the Beverage Burros from The Farm at Sparrow Hill in the past. I couldn’t have recommended them any more. And of course, the Beverage Burros were an absolute hit, a crowd favorite for sure!
