Colorado is its absolute prettiest in the fall, which is exactly why Hayden and Bailey wanted to take their photos in the breathtaking Rocky Mountains near Vail, Colorado!

I first met these two through a friend, and Hayden had proposed to Bailey just the week before. We started talking and Bailey shared everything she was envisioning for her day. They decided to book engagement photos quickly, to not miss out on the peak time for the aspens.

Hayden and Bailey met in high school, but reconnected a few years ago and had no idea what their relationship would blossom into. They did long distance from Texas to Colorado, and once Bailey graduated she moved to Colorado and seven months later was engaged!

I truly wanted to capture how sweet and playful these two are together in their session. They decided to spend a few moments celebrating with champagne and I love when couples make their engagement session a full experience! Maggie, their dog, even got to come and get some photos taken with her mom and dad!

I can’t wait to celebrate with these two at their New Mexico wedding next fall!

If you want stunning wildflowers for your session, then mid-summer is the best time of year to take engagement photos in Vail! This is the perfect space in Colorado to find them, and you can take a walk on one of the many trails in Vail. Shine Ridge Trail is one of the best options, with rolling meadows and plenty of spots to capture photos! And it is only a moderate hike being 4.4 miles roundtrip.

Maybe you’d rather have those golden hues in your photos, so come to Vail in the fall with the crisp weather. September is typically the peak season for the changing colors of the leaves, and there are plenty of hikes to choose from to have these colors as a backdrop. The North Vail Trail gives you a 12-mile trail network that is filled with aspens that turn a bright yellow in the fall.

Another fun spot for photos is the covered bridge in Vail, which is especially beautiful in the winter! It is decorated in colored lights and usually covered in snow, which make it a really picturesque spot. If you’re taking photos in Vail in the winter, this spot is a must!
