Gosh, talk about the most perfect day for a wedding! This Charleston wedding at Hart Meadows Ranch was stunning down to every detail.
Kellsey and Gryphon first met each other in Colorado, and later moved to South Carolina together. They are fun-loving, adventurous, and are passionate about the outdoors. Both love going fishing, horseback riding, hiking, and hanging out with friends. And their wedding day was a perfect reflection of just that!
Surrounded by about 120 of their closest friends and family, everyone was there to celebrate and have a great time! Throughout the whole day there was very little stress, which made the day even better! It was all smooth sailing, from start to finish.
They wanted the perfect mix of getting as many stunning photos as possible while also sneaking away for some alone time. They were able to get so much quality time with friends and family who traveled into town for their big day. I just loved how intentional these two were & they were so easy to celebrate with!
Charleston is such a stunning, historic area that has a lot of beautiful venues to choose from! Here are some small wedding venues for you to choose from!
This wedding for Kellsey and Gryphon was at the Hart Meadows Ranch and it was absolutely beautiful! It is a perfect venue if you’re looking to keep every part of the day in one location. The girls were able to get ready in the bridal yurt and the bridal party took their photos under stunning oak trees with an old red pick-up.
The ceremony was set up right beside the pond, with Kellsey & Gryphon across the bridge from the guests which was a fun touch. And the reception was held inside their oak hall, with it’s nice white finish and stunning wood beams.
I just loved how upscale and elegant this venue was, but it still definitely kept true to it’s Southern charm. The venue owners really have their couples in mind with this venue, and thought out every detail to cater to them! It’s a venue I would LOVE to go back to!
This incredibly beautiful venue, Boone Hall Plantation, has not only hosted many celebrities, but it was also a set for The Notebook! And it’s easy to see why! There are so many amazing ceremony locations, from the large mansion, the famous wrought-iron gates, as well as a waterfront dock. There’s also the Avenue of Oaks, where Spanish moss hangs from trees & it would make an incredible spot for photos. This venue is seriously a dream!
The William Aiken House is a historic venue, built in 1810, and really blends more modern Charleston with a European feel so that you feel like you are transported somewhere different! It has it’s own ballrooms and parlors, and the house is colorful and beautiful inside with all of it’s historic details. It makes such an elegant backdrop for a wedding!
This venue, The Ocean Course, is in Kiawah Island and has oceanside views on an expansive golf course and it’s just stunning! It has private beach access, which means you can take advantage of this for couples portraits or even wedding party photo. And you definitely won’t want to miss the stunning golden hour opportunity!
The Middleton Place Plantation is another historic venue that has stunning fields and flowers, with acres of beautiful land. You can have a large tent wedding, that will give you views of the sunset and it’s beautiful! You can also choose to host your reception at the Rice Mill, which was built in 1851, and gives you that cozy, indoor wedding with farmhouse feels. This venue is my kind of place!
The River Course in a little beach town just south of Charleston, Kiawah Island, just like the Ocean Course. It’s a beautiful stretch of land that overlooks the golf course as well. You can choose to have this view as the backdrop for your ceremony, or you can have the views of the beautiful River House.
There are so many other amazing wedding venues in the Charleston area but these are just some of the favorites!
When it comes to planning your wedding, the biggest decisions come down to choosing your vendors and they can really make a big difference in how your day turns out! Make sure you take the time to research and find not only quality vendors, but also ones that fit what you are envisioning. Because Charleston is such a large area that is big destination for weddings, you will have a lot of vendors to choose from!
