When I first met this amazing couple at Lost Valley Ranch, we instantly clicked, and it felt like an honor to be part of their journey. With our plan set to capture their engagement photos at Pass Lake, Loveland Pass, we were all excited for the day. But Colorado weather had its own plans—when we arrived, the lake was still frozen with about a foot and a half of snow blanketing the area. While the original plan didn’t pan out, we didn’t let that stop us. Instead, we embraced the chilly, windy conditions and made the most of our time on top of Loveland Pass, capturing some breathtaking moments that perfectly reflected the couple’s adventurous spirit.

After braving the elements at Loveland Pass, we decided to continue the session at Officer’s Gulch. The contrast was striking—where Loveland Pass was cold and windy, Officer’s Gulch greeted us with calm, warm weather, perfect for more intimate and relaxed photos. The change in scenery and weather really added a unique touch to their engagement album, showcasing the beauty and unpredictability of Colorado.

Loveland Pass Colorado

Loveland Pass, standing at an impressive 11,990 feet above sea level, is located about an hour west of Denver. The pass is renowned for its breathtaking views along the Continental Divide, offering a mix of rugged mountain landscapes and serene alpine lakes. The location’s high elevation and winding roads provide a thrilling yet accessible spot for engagement photos, making it a favorite for my couples!

One of the most iconic spots at Loveland Pass is Pass Lake, a popular destination during the summer months when the snow has melted and the lake reveals its tranquil waters. However, it’s important to know that the weather at this elevation can be unpredictable, often keeping the area covered in snow well into June. This makes it a stunning, but chilly, location for engagement photos with a winter vibe.

The top of the pass offers panoramic views that are nothing short of magical, especially during sunrise when the light hits the mountains just right. Whether you’re looking for a winter wonderland or a summer escape, Loveland Pass will give you an unforgettable experience.
